Hello My Name Is Baby Grow
Breastmilk leaves the breast through various small openings in the nipple. Each nipple is unique and varies from one mother to another. The average amount of openings is 9, but some women can have up until 20 openings per nipple.
When a mother starts to breastfeed it is very important for both mummy and baby to learn how to get a deep latch to avoid a painful feed. When the latch is shallow mummy’s nipple will get pressed against baby’s hard palate and end up crippled. On the bright side, with a bit of help and support from your Midwife / Health Visitor you can master the deep latch and save your nipples from this crippling pain.
